All about EPI
Environmental performance index is a data-driven method of quantifying the state and performance of sustainability around the globe. This was developed by the Pilot Environmental Performance Index. It was first published in 2002 and was made to set targets concerning environment. It uses 32 performance indicators across eleven categories of issue and then the Environmental Performance Index ranks 180 countries on basis of health and ecosystem. Basically, these indicators provide an idea of how close a country is to establish their environmental targets and policies.
Environmental Performance Index provides a medium to not only spot the
problems but also to set targets, understand the results and tracks various
trends thereby identifying the best policy practices. A good analysis is a
great way to help government officials refine their agendas thus further
facilitating the communicators with their desired key stakeholders thereby
maximizing the ROI on environmental investments.
