A little change in attitude can tide you over this crisis
The current lot of mankind is going through a doubt. Will I be
able to overcome Covid-19?
Yes you can!!! We all can!!!
Pandemics aren’t new. Humans fought pandemics even during the
time of wars.
Imagine a situation where you are being bombarded and you
also have high fever. Thus, Covid-19 can’t bring down our morale.
Overcoming uncertainty is the biggest challenge amid the novel
coronavirus pandemic. We first thought we are about to sprint for 100m, but the
tracks got longer and now we are running a marathon.
Take it in your stride
Living in a pandemic is traumatic. No matter what your level
of comfort, health or employment is, you’re going through a lot at present, and
acknowledging that is necessary.
Though we are the bestslow-fashion brand in Australia, we’re not mental health experts. But here we
are giving you a few tips to help you stay afloat in these very bad times.
That’s attitude.
So where and how do we start? By not doing much and simply
adding a positive spin to everyday life.
Loosen the words me, I and am
Being unselfish isn’t too easy but in this time of crisis
treat the world as your own. If you practice good hygiene the other person
stays hygienic. Ensure that always. For example if you sanitize your hands
every time you return the money to someone it will double your existing tasks
but you will ensure that you and the other person is safe. So, don’t just wash
yourself, wash the other person too.
Get some fresh air
Always try to work in an area which has sufficient light and
air. This can only bring in good energy to you and your workers. If the area is
unclean and scattered, you will always be part of some anxiety and stress that
eventually will lower your productivity. Before getting on with your work, breathe
and take a minute and focus on the now and not the fear.
Make time for yourself
We’re living in an unprecedented time and trying to figure
out ways to deal with the changes. But taking once step at a time will be easy
rather than coping all at once. Never do that. It never helps. The fears and
anxieties can be diminished only if you feel happy.
Call loved ones
Staying connected amid social distancing is quite
challenging. So pick up your phones and call up your friends and family and
that is what is important for a positive mind and space. Throw a Zoom game tonight
among your BFFs or write a witty mail to your father. There are endless ways to
perk up your day every day.
Follow a routine
Working from home and not going out to hang out with friends?
Eat at restaurants or go dancing? Then why not make a new routine with the ongoing
boundaries? Make your bed every day, wake up, clean your workstation, work,
read a book and go to bed. Wear nice home clothes that make you feel
productive. Find out what makes you happy.
Always meditate
No matter if it’s spiritual or just deep breathing. It can be
anything. Anything that calms your nerves and lowers your anxiety would be fine.
You can also use apps to guide you. But the tried and tested way to meditate is
reading a book on meditation.
Stay informed
Read, read and read. This will help you stay informed. Grab
your father’s newspaper or tilt your bother’s laptop to read news. Read
fictions. But don’t be stupid. Check reliable sources of information. Also,
don’t rush to brush up on news. Take it slowly.
Show gratitude
Amid this pandemic, where millions are going off to sleep
without food every day and if you’re still able to buy food, have a bed to
sleep and feel healthy, then take a few minutes each day to tell yourself how
lucky you are. Don’t focus on what you don’t have but on what you have.
Seek help if needed
If you are low and not feeling well mentally, speak to your therapist.
Take a session or two from home via Zoom or Skype. If you don’t have a
therapist, then take help from apps. But ignore the mood swings because that’s
the first sign of slipping down the mental peace ladder.
Help others
That’s the motto of this blog. Help others as much as
possible. It need not be physical help, it could be listening to someone for
hours just to help him/her overcome her mental lows and tide him/her over the
crisis. A change in attitude in you can take so many people associated with you
bring in positive changes in their lives.
